About Us

I was born in a small town in the heart of Switzerland and came to Alaska in '97 to visit my twin brother who at that time was handling for an Iditarod dog musher.
I stayed with Andy's family and since Andy was training a young team of yearlings for Iditarod himself I helped where I could.
That was my first introduction to sled dogs and I was impressed and fascinated.

Everybody that is a little bit familiar with the Iditarod has heard the name Dee Dee Jonrowe before - a longtime musher and great friend of ours. Dee Dee was also the person that got me into the competitive dog mushing. I remember when she approached me one day, wondering if I was interested in running a dog race. She understood my passion for working with animals (my family had horses since I was 6 years old), my interest in sled dogs and any kind of adventures.
I didn't have to think twice, said yes, and she loaned me a dog team to run the Denali 300 - a 300 mile "Teaching" race from Cantwell to Paxon and back.

Training run The thermometer read -35F that day in January. It snowed the night before and there was lots of overflow on the lakes and swamps.
