Thursday, Februray 29, 2007 - Musher Meeting and Banquet

I had to be in Anchorage early for the mandatory musher's meeting. For the first time the mushers were getting some trail reports - they were all the same .... not much snow and hard trails.
I was also hoping to meet my Idita Rider, Charles, but unfortunatly he got caught up in a storm on the east coast and I wasn't able to meet until Saturday.

No official meetings or anything. The last day before the race. Together with Bernie I spent several hours in the shop finishing up my start sled. I was glad to have so much "knowledge" helping me getting things done right.
I also packed up all my gear for the Ceremonial start, loaded up my sled dogs and headed to town to meet up with Andy, Ryan, Kristin, Billie and Ryan's parents Rich and Marlene for dinner.

Saturday, March 3, 2007 - Ceremonial Start in Anchorage
This is was the fun day and rehearsal for Sunday. Due to snow & trail conditions we ran only 8 miles across town instead of going to Eagle River.
Charles Allen (hopefully) enjoyed the ride in my sled.
Right after the run we loaded up the dogs and headed back to the Valley, where I had to pack for Sunday and I wanted to make sure the dogs where getting the most possible rest.
