The run over to Elim was pretty straight forward - no difficulties. I therefore decided not to stop in Elim, but go on all the way to White Mountain. I guess the trail out of Elim is not the one they usually try to take. Usually it goes out on the sea ice again, but apparently it wasn't safe and we took a trail through the hills. As soon as I hit some of those hills I was questioning my decision of not taking a break in Elim. I was worried the dogs were getting too tired going through these hills and pulled over in the trees and rested for a little bit. Now, I would say that wasn't a smart move, but I didn't know any better then. Oh well, we got through those hills, ran through Golovin and again over sea ice towards White Mountain. It was a long ran and I was looking forward to the mandatory 8hr rest. |
